BEFORE NOW NEXT
4 April 2012, Platform
At 6pm on Tuesday 3 April, a group of young theatre-makers, artists, writers, musicians and animators locked themselves in a basement at Platform and began to create a unique new piece of theatre.
Each have been sponsored to help raise money for our work with hundreds of young people across Islington.
Working with scripts and ideas curated by Speakeasy, the director of Company of Angels Adam Barnard and ICT's Artistic Director Ned Glasier, the group had just 25 hours to make a brand new 45 minute play.
Throughout the night the process was streamed live to the world via ustream, with hundreds of viewers and many others interacting through twitter and facebook.
Two young artists and Work in Progress members, the musician Jake Head and film-maker Roman Dawson, worked throughout the night creating a film and sound scape for the piece to exist in.
The final piece showed to an audience at 7pm on Wednesday 4 April, described by Adam as an improbable tale of time, twins, grandparents and drowning. It was only after it had finished that we suddenly didn't feel tired at all.
