Primordial Soup

The Darwin Project, the working title for a new play exploring the relationship between young people in Islington and Darwin's theory of evolution, starts next week.

A new commission from the Biochemical Society, and the first piece of fully professional work created by Islington Community Theatre, the new play will be written by Ali Taylor and directed by Ned Glasier.  It will be performed as a dynamic, rule-breaking site-specific piece in school science labs across Islington in October.

Helping us on our way are two scientists, Dale Bancroft and Ben Storey, both students at Royal Holloway, University of London.  Their job will be to ensure that our piece, while an exciting, lively and provactive play for young people, is also scientifically acurate.

If you're interested in seeing how the project evolves, bookmark the Darwin Project blog, where young people, members of the creative team and others will be charting our progress right the way through to October.
