Farewell Jo

It is with huge sadness that we announce the departure of Jo Gibson, who has been working as our Administrator since November 2009.

Jo, who was also employed as the Pleasance Theatre Administrator on a job share agreement, is leaving to join the staff of the Leicester Square Theatre.

Throughout the last year of growth and development within Islington Community Theatre, Jo has been instrumental in helping us move forward and professionalise our administration.  We are incredibly sad to see her go and wish her all the very best in her future career.

We will not be re-appointing an administrator and are hoping to raise sufficient money so that we can employ a permanent General Manager from the end of the year.  In the meantime, however, we're pleased to welcome Sarah Stott, who will be joining us as an administrative intern for the next 3 months.

As those who know Jo know, her favourite song in the world is Journey's Don't Stop Believing.  As a tribute, and a way of saying thank you, Work in Progress members (all 30 of them) stormed Jo's leaving drinks on Thursday to provide their very own special rendition of the song.

Here's the video of the group singing - a strange and wonderful way to finish a session on political theatre.  Apologies for the shaky camera work...

We're back

We're back in the office after a wonderful summer break - very welcome after our busiest year yet in 2009-10.

Over the next couple of weeks we'll be announcing our projects for the new season, confirming what projects will be running where and when and unvieling a little facelift for the website.

In the meantime, we're already advertising for new staff to join us this year - see our work with us page for more information.

The final bow for 2009-10

Our final project for the 2009-10 season has come to an end, with the EGA Oracle Project performing a short showing inspired by the idea of being a girl with puppets and some astonishingly mature and inciteful poetry.

More photos from the project here.
