IT SNOWS
By Bryony Lavery, Steven Hoggett and Scott Graham
November 2010, Pleasance Theatre Islington

Same old story. Boy doesn’t meet Girl. Girl doesn’t meet Boy. Threatened by terrifying Lads Gang. Threatened by awe-inspiring Girls Gang. Mum and Dad have declared War. Against each other. Weird neighbour in the building opposite. Usual ordinary gloominess. Then, one day, it snows.
And everything changes.
It Snows celebrated the joy of snow day in this heart, toe and finger-warming play for young and old alike, written by the acclaimed playwright Bryony Lavery and the Artistic Directors of Frantic Assembly and performed by Islington Youth Theatre.

Feedback for It Snows:
"What an absolutely wonderful performance those magnificent young people gave of of It Snows. We were dead impressed by the wonderfully imaginitive direction, and the cast's ability to mix and master different acting styles and techniques so effectively. Such talent, training and teamwork set a gold standard for Youth Theatre and we are so proud that this is all hand crafted in Islington by its finest young citizens."

"I just wanted to say thank you for such a great show. I was impressed by the quality of the acting, the set and the props. It looked like everything was covered with snow.
All the students and staff from Highbury Grove thoroughly enjoyed it. I have written down some of the comments made by the students.
“I laughed when he was bullied by the girls, but I know it was not funny because he was being bullied.”
“The girls gave him a wedgie”
“It looked like snow. Everything was covered in white.”
“I liked the feathers and the way it looked like snow everywhere”.
“I laughed a lot, but I didn’t get it”
“I liked the way the girl kept giving stage directions”
“I wish it was longer so that I could find out about the women in the window.”
