Hi I’m Corey. P. I’m 16 years old and a member of Islington Community Theatre (who run the Oracle Project). I’m also working as the Project Assistant for the IAMS Oracle.
Slow Down!!!! Time, that is. Our second to last rehearsal date has now officially passed. I know, it’s exciting and I know the oracle is on our side, but less than two weeks? Really!? Of course, we have little to worry about, with official scripts having been issued and another run-through of our performance. Come to think of it, a few scientists who’ll be making a guest appearance at the show said: “To tamper with time never ends well!” so don’t slow down, Bring it on!!!
We started by updating our IAMS Oracle timeline... It was so hard not to cry from pride.... but we took our next-level-as-theatre-makers-selves (take a moment if you need one, just as I did) and moved on to a bit of ‘Big Booty’, our “favourite song” as Ola correctly put it. Successfully, evidently, we gathered our energy, focus and rhythm. Eve never lost the coveted title of Queen Big Booty, previously Ola’s title. You go, Queen Big Booty! I think the rest of the group got into this family classic a bit too much, and I’m not just talking about me!
Next.... Run through-time, EXTRA LONG SESSION, the time had finally come, some wasted at least 5 minutes just being excited about it. I don’t blame me. Tine got inspiringly artistic.... on children’s faces! Ola got girly and dance-tastic.... but this time she done it whilst directing! I just watched children learn, then told them to do it better! Our session was SOOO productive!! We even further developed and refined our ideas AND used our new time-performance music! Professional or what?
Can’t say much more, time’s ticking! Have you got your ticket to watch it happening? Anyone who said NO.... the Oracle has something to say: “stop wasting time! Get a ticket!!!!” Thank you, Oracle. You always know what to say.
