Projects and Companies

The bulk of Islington Community Theatre's work is created through our young companies and regular projects involving local people aged 10 - 100.  We also run ad hoc and one off projects.

All our participants in our projects are given their places on the basis of how much they'll benefit from being involved.  We work in collaboration with schools, colleges and other local agencies to reach people who would never normally become involved in theatre projects.  All of our projects are comprised of people from an extremely wide range of backgrounds and from all ethnic, class and economic backgrounds. 

YOUNG COMPANIES

"Theatre's Next Generation" (Time Out)

We currently run three companies for young people, which revolve around Islington Youth Theatre.  Click on the links below for more information:

Oracle Projects are for young people aged 10-12 adn run in partnership with primary and secondary schools. 

Islington Youth Theatre is a thriving permanent company of 12-16 year olds drawn from across Islington's Schools and Youth Services.

Work in Progress is a company of young people aged 16-22 who are serious about a career in theatre.

SCHOOLS

Raising Stakes is an ongoing project helping to raise Islington GCSE Drama Students' expectations, performances and grades - and help support their teachers.
