Support Our Work

Since we were founded in October 2008, Islington Community Theatre has worked with over 1,000 young people through numerous projects, productions and other activities.
In our first year we have grown faster than we might ever have imagined. From a small youth theatre with 25 members, we now work with over 100 young people every week, have two new young companies and have produced our first ever fully professional production - a site-specific piece by the award winning playwright Ali Taylor.
We are different from other community theatre companies in terms of the way we recruit our participants - through a unique link direct with all local schools - and by the sheer ambition of our work. Within our first twelve months our excellence was recognised on the largest stage in the UK when Islington Youth Theatre performed at the National Theatre's New Connections Festival.
In order to meet our ambitions, we need the support of individuals, sponsors, trusts and foundations.
Your help can enable us to grow and work with an ever-expanding range of young people across the borough: young people who would never otherwise have become involved in extra-curricular performance projects.
As we grow, we hope that our work will help change the face of theatre in the UK: with more disadvantaged young people making their way into the industry and ensuring its future survival as a relevant, exciting, inclusive medium for tomorrow.
Because we're a relatively small company with very low overheads, your support is guaranteed to make a real difference to peoples' lives. Our supporters and donors are cherished parts of the Islington Community Theatre family, with unparralled access to our projects, young people and creatives processes.
If you are interested in becoming a supporter, please contact us to arrange a phone chat or coffee.
Help us mark our first birthday on 27th October by joining us for a unique 24-hour fundraising event. 75 young people will work against the clock to create unique, incredible theatre pieces in just a single day.
